The Double Eleven shopping gala, a Chinese online shopping extravaganza, saw booming sales on its grand opening.

　　The annual event, which falls on Thursday, was first started by Alibaba's e-commerce platform on Nov. 11, 2009, and quickly grew into a major shopping spree.

　　As a new force in Ningbo's cross-border e-commerce industry, Ningbo Qianwan Comprehensive Bonded Zone is gearing up for the "Double Eleven".

　　On the evening of November 10th, the second round of "Double Eleven" activities began. Not only did the online platform place an overwhelming number of orders, but the offline warehouses and inspection venues were also busier than before.

　　On the morning of the 11th, in the bonded warehouse, the staff was processing the orders in an orderly manner. The staff quickly folded the express cartons, packaged the goods on the transporter one by one, and the automated sorting equipment delivered the packages to the freight channels.

　　It is understood that during the shopping gala, the total number of cross-border e-commerce orders in the Qianwan Comprehensive Bonded Zone is expected to be nearly 3 million. "Although the order volume has slightly decreased year-on-year, the proportion of goods such as beauty cosmetics and health care products has increased, and the value of goods has increased steadily." The relevant person in charge of the Economic and Information Technology Bureau of Qianwan New Area said that in order to ship these express delivery as soon as possible, nearly 58% of the goods are released from the warehouse on the first day.
