The 5^th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. At this CIIE, Amazon announced that its first front-end bonded warehouse will be settled in Ningbo in 2023 to better serve the consumption demand of Chinese consumers for imported products. Ningbo Front-end Bonded Warehouse will first serve Amazon's UK and Germany sites and will be expanded to cover all four sites in the future.
With the launch of Ningbo Front-end Bonded Warehouse, Chinese consumers will have a better overseas shopping experience: compared with direct delivery service, front-end bonded warehouse logistics will save about 4 to 5 days on average; At the same time, Amazon overseas online shopping will introduce more new overseas categories, such as pet food, through the Ningbo Front-end Bonded Warehouse.
For this cooperation with Ningbo, Li Yanchuan, vice president of Amazon China and head of Amazon Overseas Online Shopping China, is full of enthusiasm. "As a new step in the layout of cross-border bonded logistics mode, we are very much looking forward to working with Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone to superimpose online shopping bonded mode and cross-border e-commerce industry resource linkage advantages, and optimize the experience of overseas shopping," she said.
This year, in the first evaluation by the Ministry of Commerce on 105 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones nationwide, Ningbo ranked first grade with excellent results. At present, Ningbo Comprehensive Pilot Zone has established Ningbo Airport International Logistics Park, Ningbo E-Commerce Logistics Center, Meishan Bonded Port Logistics Center and other logistics centers, and has built nearly one million square meters of cross-border import warehouses.
The comprehensive cooperation with Amazon can be traced back to five years ago. On July 6, 2017, China (Ningbo) Cross -border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone signed cooperation with Amazon China to export cross-border e-commerce business.
