Recently, a series of paintings with the theme of "sea" were presented in Ningbo Yangfan Art Museum.
The exhibition has received an enthusiastic response from artists and art lovers since its open in March this year, with over 150 pieces of work received.
The works on display are rich in subject matter, relying on the natural ecology, ancient architecture and humanities, folk customs and many other materials in Ningbo, focusing on Ningbo coastal history and cultural characteristics, coastal fishing style and other themes.
At the exhibition, the thematic series of works created by painter Wang Lihua were very popular. The works of Lin Huaqiu, a veteran painter from Tongzhao village, give a sense of the sea; Zhuo Yahui, a young painter born by the sea and working in a fishing village, depicts scenes such as fishing boats at the docks and fishermen's labour in his oil paintings.
The artists in this exhibition have experienced life in the coastal areas and the construction sites of the coastal tourism and leisure areas through picking, sketching and creating, conveying the nostalgia of the artists and their knowledge of the coastal development and construction.
